Globalinternet is looking for a Systems Engineer to strengthen our worldwide support team, based in Amsterdam. Within Globalinternet, the Service Operations Center is responsible for provisioning, monitoring and providing technical support for all the services delivered by Globalinternet. In addition the SOC maintains and supports all workstations, enabling employees to perform their daily tasks. And that's where you come in! 

 

You will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of all workstations and SaaS applications. You will support a broad range of systems from end user laptops to production systems. Your day to day work will be to ensure effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, software related to the IT infrastructure. At the same time you will participate in research and development, in regards to both our own infrastructure or services delivered by Globalinternet. Primary tasks and responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve internal IT solutions
  • Use your initiative and technical knowledge to diagnose any technical support/IT problems on the desktops, laptops (Windows ,macOS and Linux) and phone system (mobile and VoIP)
  • Keep current documentation up-to-date and add along the way
  • On- and off-boarding of employees including arrangement (new) hardware
  • Deployment and maintenance of desktops, laptops and mobile devices via standard deployment tools
  • User account management via centralized Directory and SSO
  • Collaborate with other supplier teams to resolve issues and participate in projects
  • Respond to support requests in the IT Helpdesk both in person and via a ticketing system (Ivanti)
  • Work together with office management to keep stock of peripherals
  • You implement best practices on process, procedures, and security policies as the business scales and help maintain them
  • Apply company policies and procedures and adhere to company administrative procedures like time writing
  • Perform 24/7 on call duties (if needed)
  • Ensure that our customers experience the highest level of support possible by clear and transparent communication and adequate incident resolution

Requirements

About you:

Skills:

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Both experience and knowledge of common operating systems  (Microsoft and Apple) and software including desktop productivity software
  • Extensive knowledge of Office 365, Microsoft Server 2012 & 2016, Azure, MDM and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with the Ivanti ticketing system
  • A strong communicator and team player and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience with Network Management Systems (Solarwinds)
  • Excellent English, spoken and written is a must
