The role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships and partnerships with Enterprises, Telecommunications and Service Providers in the USA.  This person is experienced in deal-making in a fast-moving environment. This includes identifying, structuring, negotiating and closing opportunities to increase market share and drive revenue for the Globalinternet business.  This position requires in-depth understanding of the global telecommunications market and data communications ecosystem, as well as high-level contacts within these target companies. The main responsibility of the role will be to build a sales pipeline of Globalinternet opportunities in the USA and help to bring these individual deals to a successful close.


Responsibilities/Key Tasks:

  • The Business Development Manager holds primary responsibility for the identification, development and realization of revenue opportunities with Enterprise, Telecommunications and Service Provider customers within the USA market. 

  • Developing strategies and growth plans based upon sound, business-based analyses of market information and current and planned Globalinternet capabilities.  This process will result in the identification of opportunities for business expansion and growth.

  • Coordinate onboarding with external and internal teams to facilitate implementation.

  • Developing and managing the relationship between Globalinternet and these customers by cultivating relationships with key stakeholders throughout the customer community.

  • The position will have direct responsibility for monitoring compliance with Globalinternet processes and will be responsible for allocating and managing selling budgets.

  • The Business Development Manager will be primarily measured on meaningful and sustainable new revenue and margin generated from these accounts and will have discrete annual goals and objectives for revenue, bookings/backlog, margin, and opportunity funnel and pipeline.

Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience

  • University/College education or equivalent with 5 or more years’ experience in a Sales, Sales Management and/or Business Development capacity. This should include experience leading the identification, qualification, pursuit, proposal development and capture of opportunities. 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and negotiate win-win agreements

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships at a senior level in a complex and changing environment

  • Strong sales process discipline and experience in strategy development.

  • Advanced presentation and written communications skills

  • Expected travel: 25%


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with and knowledge of data communications technology and trends.

  • Self-starter capable of managing opportunities all the way through the entire capture process.

  • Team-player with the ability to influence and motivate others to support capture of new opportunities.

  • Has a “roll-up your sleeves” work ethic and take a hands-on approach to driving opportunity capture and revenue growth.

  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions in assessing business opportunities.

  • Effective communications skills and leadership qualities, capable of convincing others to follow their lead and ideas; is innovative, enthusiastic, and can personally represent Globalinternet.
